This project simplifies fresh pasta-making with a caulk gun-style extruder using pre or self-filled dough tubes. It offers a quick, customizable alternative to traditional methods, featuring reusable dies and diverse dough options for high-quality, hassle-free pasta.

Fresh pasta is time-consuming and requires skill to make from scratch. Pre-packaged options are limited, and dry pasta lacks the same texture and taste. Consumers want a convenient, customizable way to enjoy fresh pasta without the hassle.
PROBLEM
Consumers value fresh pasta but find it time-consuming and difficult to make. Existing options lack variety or quality. This product fills a market gap by making fresh pasta easy and customizable.
RESEARCH
IDEATION
I explored various tube designs for dough storage, reimagined caulk gun forms to echo traditional pasta machines, and developed interchangeable die concepts that thread onto the tubes for versatile pasta shapes.
I 3D printed various die shapes, refining interaction points and ensuring compatibility with standard caulk guns. I also tested the cutting head feature to optimize functionality.
PROTOYPING
Each pre-filled tube comes with a specific interchangeable die, allowing users to create a variety of pasta shapes. The boxed kit includes the custom extruder, a reusable tube, and the full set of die options made from steel instead of plastic for a premium, long-lasting experience.
PASTA DIE
The name Stretta comes from the Italian word for “squeeze,” capturing the core action of the product.
Background images for the labels were AI-generated using MidJourney©. Colors represent each dough type for quick recognition.
BRANDING
The labels feature notches that indicate serving size, offering a quick visual guide for portioning. Each label also includes an icon that clearly shows which interchangeable die shape is included with the dough.
